Whuh, there’s a difference? Pssst, hey dummy… the answer is YES! There’s a big difference. First of all, privacy builds trust, plants faith. Privacy says, “It’s none of your business.” Privacy has gratuitous consensual sex behind closed doors because its inappropriate for young audiences. Secrecy on the other hand destroys trust. It shatters faith. Secrecy whispers, “Fuck I hope nobody finds out.” Shhh… its a secret. Secrecy fiddles about with minors, secrecy commits murder… it robs, cheats and steals. It kills faith and tears trust apart.
Privacy closes the door, it closes the blinds, it speaks quietly in confidence. Secrecy goes underground, it utilizes burner devices and throw away online accounts. Where as privacy is meant to safeguard your personal information and bank account and social security number, secrecy collects all of that private shit and shares it with its associates and affiliates for fraudulent financial gain. Privacy is honorable and dignified. Secrecy is scummy, repugnant and shameful.
I’ll give you a primo example: secret societies—the Masons, the Oddfellows, Skull & Bones. Nowadays, they’ll blow smoke up your turd-cutters about how their brotherhoods share grand noble ideals, pull off philanthropic miracles. Their good guys and gents, with their positive, proactive resources making the world, our neighborhoods, our universities palaces of higher learning. Their crafting finer men for future generations.
Query: if it’s all on the level, why the secrecy? Shouldn’t such grand and noble ideals and qualities and traits be shared in mass, shared with the public, shared with the world at large? The crafty craftsman’ll quote the Good Book saying good works should be done in secret. But no—the Good Book says good works should be done without expecting a reward and without the need for an audience and tells us to keep our good deeds private to avoid idolatry and ignoble pursuits.
You’re telling me that secret handshakes and secret rituals and secret meetings are held in secret places for the greater good? Peddle that garbage in your modern fairy tales. It’s unfit for human consumption. So you’re telling me that the millions of blacked-out lines in government documents, all that redacted and inflammatory criminal imperial sensitive information has been withheld and concealed and redacted for the greater good of humanity? To quote Dr. Evil, “Right.”
