Daily Prompt: Describe an object you were incredibly attached to when you were young. What became of it?

Yeah…. No, I don’t think so and I’ll tell you why. Referring back to my college days and more specifically, the Anthropology of Religion and Witchcraft, there are two reasons why I won’t divulge such highly sensitive information;

  1. Contagious magic: hair, fingernails and (or) physical objects such as a wedding ring, an amulet or even a family heirloom such as grampa’s corncob pipe… Any biological material or physical object with which one has a strong attachment maintains a metaphysical bond with the person attached to it long after the two have separated which may/might be used to manipulate the individual in some manner (Spooky Action at a distance; a term coined by Alber Einstein as I recall,) and,
  2. Associative magic: thinks that are alike are the same. Effigies, voodoo dolls, stick-men and so on and so forth representing an individual or a very specific object resembling any such artifact which said individual held a strong connection to may/might be crafted or manufactured to manipulate said individual in some manner to whatever end.

What happened to this object which you had a strong attachment to? And there lies the real heart of the matter. Those things I had close attachments to when I was young… who knows what became of them or how they may/might be used or are being used at present and by whom… Too many variables for me to comfortably share this sensitive information with any AI programs or algorithms, to say nothing of a broken world inhabited by 7 billion broken people… Apologies.
